The Vietnam war began on November 1st of 1955 and ended on April 30th of 1975.
It began with the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, which gave President Lyndon Johnson permission to unofficially declare war on Vietnam. We fought with much opposition from the counterculture and eventually lost with 4 million civilian casualties.
